The France-Nederland Cultuurfonds aims to reinforce dialogue in all fields. The foundation enables artistic and educational programmes initiated by the Institut français NL, which would not have been possible without its support.
At the invitation of His Majesty the King, the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, paid a state visit to the Netherlands on 11 and 12 April 2023. This French state visit, the first since 2000, was not only a reaffirmation of the strong ties between the two countries but also an opportunity to launch new common projects, such as the France-Nederland Cultuurfonds. This new foundation has been designated as an Organisation of Public Interest in the Area of Culture (Culturele ANBI). The foundation relies on its patrons, mainly French and Dutch companies active on both territories, to fund its initiatives. The France-Nederland Cultuurfonds has been admitted into the Transnational Giving Europe Network, which offers a secure and tax-effective cross-border donation framework through the Fondation de France (for French Donors) and the Cultuurfonds in the Netherlands.
The Foundation is managed by the Board of Directors:

- François Croquette, Director of the Institut français NL and Cultural Counsellor
- Taco Dibbits, Director General of the Rijksmuseum – Amsterdam
- Alexandra de Hoop Scheffer, Senior Vice President of the German Marshall Fund
- Emeline de Jong, Director of Radio France Culture
- Annelies van der Pauw, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Stedelijk Museum – Amsterdam
- Grégoire Poux-Guillaume, CEO Akzo Nobel – Amsterdam
- Corinne Vigreux, Business executive and entrepreneur, co-founder of Tom-Tom – Amsterdam
The board of directors also benefits from the input of an advisory board composed of renowned experts in the cultural and educational fields: Cathelijne Broers (Director of the Cultuurfonds), Kirsten van den Hul (Director of DutchCulture), Friso Wijnen (Director of BredaPhoto), Maaike Koffeman (Chairwoman of the Platform Frans network), Margot Dijkgraaf (Literary critic and author) and Sigrid van Aken (CEO of the Postcode Lottery Group).
Remuneration Policy
The remuneration policy of the Foundation must make it possible to attract and keep excellent staff and to attain its objectives to the best possible extent. The remuneration policy is aimed at ensuring that the director and the members of staff devote their efforts to the interests of the Foundation, giving priority to integrity and solidity. The remuneration policy is a transparent policy. The Foundation has no bonus policy, thirteenth month or year-end bonus.
The Members of the Board and the Advisory Board receive no remuneration for their work.
